[dropcap]V[/dropcap]inceremos Therapeutic Riding Center is a premier member of The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International. Located in Loxahatchee the program was founded 31 years ago by Ruth Menor and has been offering therapeutic horsemanship since that time. Vinceremos means “to overcome” in Latin.
The horses’ gentle nature and rhythmic movement, along with the staff’s expertise, has helped thousands of riders conquer the challenges associated with their disabilities.
Vinceremos coordinates their efforts through physicians, therapists referrals, group homes, schools and individual enrollment to serve children and adults with developmental, physical and psychological disabilities.
Vinceremos offers programs including, Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Therapeutic Carriage Driving, Hippotherapy and Equine Facilitated Learning. All of these programs work to improve the physical strength, balance, endurance and range of motion of the riders. Riding also adds to the participants self confidence, ability to follow instructions and concentrate, improves communication and social skills while building a greater sense of self esteem.
Vinceremos operates the program with the cooperation and encouragement of their equine partners, the 22 horses at the farm bring more than smiles to the faces of the riders. Vinceremos has been able to celebrate the successes of many of our students.
Many whose parents had been told that they may never speak or walk, yet through the encouragement and partnership of these gentle giants, have been able to achieve both.
Vinceremos has been a major beneficiary of the Big Dog Fat Cat KDW Shootout since the Tournament’s inception in 2010. We are proud to have them back as a beneficiary for 2013.
